Ken Kunkel Community Center Usage Agreement

Thank you for your interest in using the Ken Kunkel Community Center (KKCC) and/or grounds, owned by the Goldstream Valley Lions Club (GVLC). The person agreeing to the terms of this Agreement as “User” states that they have approval to bind themselves or their organization to the terms of this Agreement.

Rental of the Ken Kunkel Community Center includes the building and the back deck. All other areas of the park are first come first served. Under special circumstances, and with at least 2 months advanced notice, exceptions to this rule may be made. These requests must be approved by the general membership of the GVLC.

Please take a moment to read our terms and signify your agreement. (You must be at least 18 years old to complete this agreement.)      

General:

Cancellation:  Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel your reservation. You will receive a full refund if you cancel seven days in advance. You will receive a 50% refund up to three days in advance. No refunds if you cancel less than three days before your reservation.

Orientation: You will be required to attend a brief orientation on expectations, responsibilities, and available resources (cleaning supplies, kitchen utensils, etc.) before your first use of the facility.

Deposit:  You may be required to pay a $150 refundable damage and cleaning deposit. You are responsible for cleaning the facility after your event. Please see Cleaning Checklist for clean-up expectations. GVLC may require you to pay for the cost of any cleaning or damages arising out of your usage that exceed the deposit.

Hazards, Damages, Cleanliness:  Please notify us immediately if you identify a safety hazard or if there are any other cleanliness problems or damages present prior to your use of the facilities.  

Smoking:  No smoking is allowed inside the KKCC.

Alcohol:  Users assume all responsibility and liability for any alcohol related problems, accidents, or mishaps that may occur as a result of alcohol consumption by users or their guests/invitees, both on and off the GVLC property, whether the alcohol is provided by the User and/or the guests/invitees. Alcohol may not be sold on GVLC property unless prior approval has been given by the Board of Directors and the User has obtained the proper authorization and licenses from state and local authorities.

Pets:  No pets are allowed on the sports fields or in the KKCC unless you have obtained authorization from the Board of Directors for special events.  When on the grounds, all pets must be leashed and under owner control at all times.  Users are responsible for cleaning up all debris from their pets and/or farm animals.

Kitchen:  A kitchen is available for your use.  The GVLC strives to minimize waste, utilize environmentally friendly products, and recycle whatever is possible. To that end, dishes, utensils, tea/coffee pots, and pots and pans are available for your use.  Any labeled items and cupboards are off limits. Food and beverage items in the refrigerator or cupboards are also off limits to Users. You may use the refrigerator to store your food items but PLEASE do not leave anything behind when you depart, unless approved the rental manager. If you use the oven, please make sure you have cleaned any spilled food.

Insurance:  Large and/or high-risk events, may be required to provide a proof of liability insurance and name the Goldstream Valley Lions Club as an additional insured.  This proof of insurance must be provided well in advance of you being allowed access to GVLC property. 

Liability Issues:  User understands that GVLC is not responsible for loss or damage to any personal property of the User and its guests or invitees. User assumes all responsibility, risk, and liability for all its activities. User agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Goldstream Valley Lions Club from any and all claims, damages, losses, and expenses, arising out of use of the grounds and facilities.

In completing this electronic User Agreement, I state that I have read and understand the terms and, by completing the information below, agree to adhere to them in totality.  Furthermore, I understand that if I fail to follow the Agreement, I may be prohibited from using from the GVLC in the future. Safety issues, failure to clean, and damages to facility and/or grounds may result in denial of future usage of GVLC property.
